The International Flame Research Foundation is the hub of a worldwide network of industrial companies and academic institutes working to achieve cleaner and more efficient industrial combustion. IFRF Members have in common an interest in acquiring, or generating information to enable the design and production of flames to heat industrial processes efficiently and with minimal effect on the environment. The IFRF both contributes to furthering combustion research and serves as a conduit for information transfer throughout the international combustion community.
With administrative and research headquarters in Tuscany, Italy, the IFRF places at the disposal of its member organisations a body of knowledge and experience which has been accumulated over 50 years of engagement in the field and which continues to be developed and updated through ongoing investigative research and information dissemination.
In addition the IFRF provides consultancy services and education and training opportunities to its members as well as to the international engineering community.
